Offshore Wind Farm Integration
Powering 450,000 homes with offshore wind while cutting 1.2 million tons of emissions

This ambitious project involved integrating a 500 MW offshore wind farm into the national grid of a major European country. The wind farm, located 30km off the coast, consists of 62 turbines, each capable of generating 8 MW of power. The project required extensive marine engineering, complex grid connection infrastructure and careful national and EU energy policy navigation.
Once fully operational, the wind farm is expected to provide clean electricity to over 450,000 homes, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 1.2 million tons annually. This represents a significant step towards the country’s renewable energy targets, potentially increasing its overall wind energy capacity by 20%.
Our consultancy supported our renewable energy client who was responsible for the offshore substation design and installation. We provided strategic advice on supply chain management and assisted in drafting climate-resilient procurement contracts. Our team helped the subcontractor reduce material costs by 12% while ensuring compliance with stringent EU sustainability standards.
